‘This Is Why People Don’t Like Us’: Collins Outraged After Nadler Delays Impeachment Vote

A House Republican on the Judiciary Committee fumed Thursday night after Chairman Jerrold Nadler’s (D-N.Y.) surprise announcement that the committee would delay the vote on the articles of impeachment until Friday morning.

A reporter asked ranking member Rep. Doug Collins (R-Ga.) if it “really matters” if the vote on was held in the night or in the morning, Collins responded sharing his frustration that Nadler scheduled the vote without consulting Republican members. Collins said:

“The reason we had this tonight, is we had worked this out tonight to finish up tonight. So we have members who have flights, we have members who are getting on trains, we have members who are going home because this was going to finish up tonight. But to not even consult the ranking member, to not even give us a heads up. This was all we heard.”

Noting the duration of the debate and the late hour, Nadler said he wanted members to have time to reflect on what they heard before voting.

“It has been a long two days of consideration of these articles, and it is now very late at night. I want the members of both sides of the aisle to think about what has happened these last two days and to search their consciences before we cast our final votes.”

Speaking to reporters, Collins slammed the move as lacking integrity.

“That was the most lack of integrity thing I’ve sever seen,” Collins said, as he blasted Nadler for leaving the room without comment after Collins expressed outrage with the decision to postpone the vote.

“And then to see them and then the staff and the chairman have no comment and just sort of go, ‘Huh?’ This is the problem. This is why people don’t like us. This crap like this is why people are having such a terrible opinion of Congress.”

He continued to slam Nadler, saying that he has lost his integrity.

“The Chairman’s integrity is gone. His staff is gone,” Collins said, adding, “This was the most bush league thing I have seen forever.”

“And if the American people wondered about this impeachment anymore, they don’t have to wonder anymore. They saw what happened here tonight. Because this committee is more concerned about getting on TV in the morning than it was finishing its job tonight.”

After more than 14 hours of debate on Thursday, Nadler announced that the committee would reconvene at 10 a.m. on Friday to decide whether or not to recommend the articles of impeachment to the full House.

Not mentioned in this biased article is the real reason why the vote was delayed. Just so y’all aren’t confused, the vote was meant to be held around 6 o’clockish/dinner time, but the members from the American Fascist Party kept trying to make amendment after amendment dragging it out for hours.

This is what fascists DO. Blame others for what they themselves do.

The REAL reason the vote was delayed is because Nadler was SO bored with all the nonsense he couldn’t stay awake. He slept through most of the senseless, Leftist blather; so he now has to have someone read the testimony to him to maybe find out why he’s even there listening to garbage instead of feeding his fat genes with garbage.
